Webonise – NFHS
The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) is the body that writes the rules of competition for most high school sports and activities in the United States. It also provides training for officials. Our partner company Webonise reached out to us for some help in producing a training site for officials with videos and documents.
The client requested a secure site with user authentication integrated to their actual website, that will be dedicated to display training videos and documents for officials that want to get certified by NFHS. The solution should be robust but low cost, based on an open source framework with Enterprise level features.
The Proposed Solution
We proposed to build the solution on top of Umbraco, which is a .NET Open Source CMS with enterprise level capabilities. The client was familiar with the Umbraco architecture which was a great advantage for this solution and the customization could be accelerated though the use of plugins.
The development process
The development process took 8 weeks to deliver a fully functional training site with user management capabilities integrated to their main website. REST services were used to integrate both parts of the solution and customization made directly into the CMS trough it own hot-spots.
The solution in action
Today NFHS.org offers their officials a place to be trained inside its own domain with high level features having invested only a fraction of the cost that a similar solution could have.
